Hopeful spectators were left disappointed when they heard news that they wouldn’t be getting tickets to the 2012 Olympics. They’re not the only ones. Gaddafi was told he wouldn’t be coming either. At least there’s good reason for him: he’s not welcome, plus banned from entering the EU. He’s miles away – what about us who live on the doorstep and still can’t get tickets. Something’s got to give. Hard times, enough is enough, trouble in the Are the banks really on the ropes over PPI claims? They can’t cope with the enquiries, but now have up to 16 weeks to settle. Free banking could be axed as the government plans to make sure banks separate the retail side from investments to save customers from dodgy dealings. There was an advert many years ago by a high street bank which was along the lines of, your money is our money – and the customer tried to correct they by saying, my money is my money. It’s not over yet with the banks. Rent prices have increased as people try to save deposits to get mortgages. Same old, same old. Is this obsession to own our own homes, taken over our lives? This ideology suits any government, as it means people stay in work and work longer, to keep up mortgage payments – in turn taxes are paid. Some days you just feel like up and leaving, but the mortgage soon sobers you up. Now public sector workers plan to strike which is heralded to be the biggest strike action ever, because their pensions are being tampered with. Something’s got to give. They’re not the only ones. De-clutter tip So this weekend’s de-clutter tip is something’s got to give. People are at breaking point trying to sustain businesses/employment in a depressed market. Will learning gorilla marketing through social media, Google, Twitter, Facebook drive traffic to you? The jury is still out on this. Strangely, Facebook was used as evidence to jail a woman juror who contacted a defendant in a court case. Apparently social media is about building community and people buy from communities don’t they? One thing for certain is people still fish for business, but through what means – old fashion selling or building a following through social media. Is it whoever comes up with the cleverest idea wins? These are just ideas or idle thoughts. Is it time to let go of something that doesn’t work for you but you don’t know how? Give us a call. Something’s got to give! |
