Chink in the Armour

Someone once said, “I’m not very good with money, but the wealth I have covers all my mistakes”. In reality with wealth comes position, responsibility and power, but how far will it stretch.

Hard times, our armour, trouble in the Middle East
The news focus highlights catching a big fish, D Strauss Kahn, ex head of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), allegedly accused of hanky-panky with a chamber maid in a New York hotel.  Where as, if this were true and happened in either France or Italy, it would be played down as insignificant. Now the arena opened up the way for a new successor with our Gordon Brown, throwing his hat potentially into the ring.  But the French minister for finance, Christine Largarde takes the position as the new head of the IMF.  Let’s see whether a woman can do a better job managing the global purse.  You bet yah!  Talking of armour, household incomes have only increased by half a percent each year, while inflation (increase on food, goods, and services) has risen between 3-4%.  Jobs are being held onto by a thread, while banks are forever creating more hoops for everyone to jump through.  Now’s the time to create your own job.

Does your money protect you from the harsh reality of debt or are you realising that the armour you once relied on is crumbling? You be the judge of it. (Let us know how you feel.  Post your comments below)
